Boukari is a small fishing harbor with small beach on the southeast coast of Corfu island. It is the seaside area of the inland village of Kouspades which is less than 1 km away.
Boukari has a few hotels and a handful of houses with rooms and apartments to rent, lined along a narrow pebbled beach. Life and habits may not change in Argyrades, but it has changed rapidly in recent years at the beach of Saint George. Agios Georgios today has been transformed into a well-organized tourist resort with many water sports and sun loungers with umbrellas in most places, as well as pedalos. Also, many hotels and apartments emerged literally from the sand, bars and restaurants, supermarkets and all sorts of shops on the street that was constructed just behind the beach.
A well-signposted road leads to the small harbor of Alikes(saltpans), where until recently horses toiled bringing the salt from the salt flats here to be processed. The harbor here is still a base for local fishermen who land their catch there, and the nearby beach has several basic tavernas which offer a real Greek welcome. The large port of Lefkimmi, near the estuary of the homonymous river, has become the second port of operation in Corfu.
